Soul Marks

Soul Marks is a charity based in Edinburgh, Scotland, that encourages and enables creativity through all the senses, with a particular focus on the visual arts. Soul Marks is led by Edinburgh artist Carol Marples, who has been creating visuals for worship and running art and prayer workshops throughout Scotland for more than 15 years.

I was delighted to work with Carol to develop a new website for Soul Marks, which needed to reflect the striking artwork created by Carol and workshop participants. Carol supplied photos and text while I developed a design inspired by the collages that characterise much of Soul Marks' work. All of the elements comprising each page's design were scanned from original artwork by Carol, and layered using Photoshop.

The centrepiece of the new site is a Workshops section highlighting hundreds of images taken at Soul Marks workshops over the past five years. A calendar provides details of forthcoming Soul Marks events, and an 'About' section introduces Carol, the charity and its trustees.
